How We Rate Products
Our review methodology is designed to be transparent, consistent, and useful. Here's exactly how we evaluate every mushroom supplement.
Rating Categories
Each product is scored on five key dimensions, weighted equally to produce a final rating out of 10. The score is editorial, not a medical claim or a substitute for clinical guidance.
💰 Value (20%)
Price per serving relative to ingredient quality and dosage. We compare cost against similar products in the category.
🧪 Ingredients (20%)
Quality and dosage of active ingredients. We look for published serving amounts, fruiting body vs. mycelium, extraction methods, beta-glucan or polysaccharide data, and filler ingredients.
👅 Taste (20%)
Flavor, texture, and overall consumption experience. For coffee, this includes brew quality and how well mushroom flavors are balanced.
🔍 Transparency (20%)
Honest labeling, clear ingredient lists, accessible lab-testing results, current COAs, and straightforward marketing claims.
🤝 Support (20%)
Customer service quality, return policies, shipping speed, and overall buying experience.
Lab Testing Verification
We actively seek third-party lab testing documentation and Certificates of Analysis for every product we review. Products with COA documentation we can locate and inspect receive a lab or COA badge. When lab documentation is unavailable, self-reported, stale, or under review, we note this clearly.
Our COA review looks for the lab name, sample or lot identifier, test date, mushroom species, potency or beta-glucan data where available, and contaminant panels such as heavy metals, microbials, pesticides, or residual solvents.
